Who was Nimrod?

Who was Nimrod? Some believe Nimrod was an evil. Some believe Nimrod is just folklore, but  these are the facts that the Bible tell us about Nimrod. Nimrod was a descendant of Noah Gen 10:1-8. He was the first on earth to to a mighty man Gen 10:8 mighty men in the old testament make Arnold, Bruce and Sly look like wimps but that is a different post.He had a kingdom therefor making him a king Gen 10:10. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord,Gen10:9. How you ask is that relevant well in Gen 9:1-5 God told Noah verse 2 "The fear of you and the dread of you shall upon every Beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything."  So as you can see the concept of a grocery store much less domesticated live stock was not around or not common  . So hunting was a way of life away of sustainment and Nimrod was a mighty hunter before the Lord. The lesson I take away is God is good he gave us red meat and sea food and bait (worms).Nimrod was mighty partly because could provide. As earthly fathers we should provide for our children and wives and that dosen"t  just mean  bringing home the bacon so to speak. It means raising up our children with biblical values it means being the head of the house,we should love our wives as we love our bodies.Nimrod was mighty hunter a mighty man and a king, So the next time one of your buddies calls you a Nimrod consider it a complement.
